About The Creative Gypsy

The Creative Gypsy has produced more than 12 award winning short films. Films have been selected for over 20 film festivals, including Cannes, and she is an academic partner with the University of Warwick and McGill University.

The Founder

Neeru Khera: Started her entrepreneurial journey at fifty, reinventing herself as an independent filmmaker. She is entirely self-taught and established a solo-led content studio that creates purpose-driven films, blending compelling narratives with social impact. The name of the studio is “The Creative Gypsy.

I believe in the power of storytelling to inspire, illuminate, and transform.

Impact Stories

  • Cochlear Implants: Created a national PSA highlighting hearing health, which is described as the only Indian film on the subject.
  • Ganga Aarti: Documented this sacred ritual, preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
  • Children's Mental Health: Produced an animated short film in partnership with a leading Indian NGO.
  • LGBTQ Representation: Created India's first LGBTQ web series, which is described as breaking new ground in digital media.

  • Over 20 film festivals, including Cannes, representing the only Indian production house with three films selected for the Short Film Corner.
  • Sole academic formal partner with University of Warwick and McGill University.
  • Produced the only existing music video of the sacred Ganga Aarti national ritual.

  • Developed the first public service announcement on eye health for the Eye Bank Foundation of India.
